Yeppoon Who's Who
Public Profile

Today, I lead a team of 13 from our Crows Nest office. I still personally oversee quality on every job, prepare larger quotes and tenders, and make sure the business runs the way I’d want it to if I were the customer. My goal is simple: build a trusted local brand where customers know they’ll be looked after, and where my team genuinely enjoys coming to work.
Since launching in 2018, AB Electrical has grown into one of Sydney’s highest-reviewed electrical companies, backed by more than 600 five-star reviews. This reflects a consistent commitment to customer satisfaction, clear communication, and doing the job right the first time.

Distinguished and Famous people from Yeppoon
🏉 Matt Scott
Premiership-winning rugby league prop Matt Scott came through St Brendan’s College in Yeppoon. Born in Longreach and raised in Ilfracombe, he was signed by the North Queensland Cowboys after being spotted playing at a schoolboy carnival. His NRL debut in 2004 ended with a broken leg, a difficult start to what became a long and distinguished career. Scott later co-captained the Cowboys to their 2015 premiership and represented Queensland and Australia. The Cowboys inducted him into their Hall of Fame in 2023. Yeppoon’s connection is his school football development, a significant stepping stone between an outback upbringing and the professional game.
🏉 Harry Grant
Harry Grant’s path to the NRL began with the Yeppoon Seagulls junior club. Born in Rockhampton, the hooker made his Melbourne Storm debut in 2018 and subsequently represented Queensland and Australia. He became Storm captain in 2024. His official club profile continues to record Yeppoon Seagulls as his junior club, a clear local link in a career that moved onto much larger stages. Grant’s work at hooker combines passing, running and heavy defensive duties, a role where much happens before the television camera follows the next ball carrier. Yeppoon can claim a genuine formative chapter in that career.
🌸 Joan Giles
Joan Giles moved to Yeppoon in late 1970 and was still living in her own home there when ABC Capricornia visited for her hundredth birthday in March 2016. She continued attending astronomy lectures and participating in Probus and Rotary. Earlier, she had managed the family farm in the Jambin and Biloela area while her husband Len served during the Second World War. Pregnant and unable to lift sheep onto a vehicle, she used a wheelbarrow to help load them—a practical solution she recalled with a laugh. Later travels with Len included surviving a helicopter crash in New York with bruises. Her centenary brought family from around Australia and overseas, along with a letter from the Queen. Asked about longevity, she suggested good meals, milk and long-lived relatives. It was a lively account of a Yeppoon resident whose experiences ranged well beyond the coast.
